TERI HOROWITZ

Attorney

Teri began working with special needs children in 1988, first as a camp counselor, and later as an administrator at Ramapo for Children in Rhinebeck, NY. It was through working with families at Ramapo that Teri was inspired to pursue special education law. That passion only intensified after Teri’s oldest son was born, giving Teri the uniquely valuable perspective of parenting a child who has attended three excellent New York City special education schools: Aaron, Gateway, and now Winston Prep.

Teri graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 1998. At Fordham, she was a member of the Fordham Law Review and a Stein Scholar. After graduation, Teri spent two years as the Ethics Clerk to The Honorable Carol Bagley Amon in the Eastern District of New York. Following her clerkship, she worked as a Skadden Fellow at The Legal Aid Society’s, Juvenile Rights Division.  In 2013, she joined the Law Offices of Regina Skyer & Associates.

Teri lives with her husband and two sons in Brooklyn. She still finds time to serve as a member of the Ramapo for Children board of directors, serving as board chair from 2014-2017.
