Senior Partner
Diana Gersten, Senior Partner, Skyer Law

Diana Gersten has always been passionate about supporting children’s mental health. In her first career as a school psychologist, she conducted psycho-educational evaluations, consulted with teachers, and designed behavioral intervention plans. Her desire to more effectively advocate for the children she worked with ultimately led her to pursue a career in law.

While attending Brooklyn Law School, Diana worked at the Children’s Law Center, an organization that represents the interests of children in Family Court and in the Integrated Domestic Violence Parts of the Supreme Court. After earning her J.D., she briefly served as an attorney with Mental Hygiene Legal Services in the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department — the oldest and most comprehensive legal advocacy program for individuals with mental disabilities in the United States.

Diana joined SkyerLaw in 2004 and became a partner of the firm. In addition to managing her own caseload, she conducts initial client consultations, assigns new cases, and oversees attorneys within the practice. Drawing on her clinical background, Diana has particular expertise in reviewing reports and assessments to recommend appropriate educational programs and placements.

A native New Yorker, Diana was inspired early on by her mother, one of the city’s first CPSE administrators. Born and raised in Queens, she lives in New York City with her two teenage children.
