While attending Colgate University, Lauren Rabinowitz (Eisler) mentored a local elementary school student with special needs who had been adopted from abroad. Her connection with this student and their family sparked a lasting interest in international, family, and special education law.
After graduation, Lauren continued her advocacy on behalf of children while working as a paralegal. She supported initiatives advancing the rights of women surviving domestic violence, advocated for the educational rights of students in rural Ghana, and helped coordinate the shipment of occupational and physical therapy supplies to international regions affected by natural disasters.
As a law student at Fordham University School of Law, Lauren participated in the Family Advocacy Clinic, focusing exclusively on special education law. She also served on the Fordham International Law Journal and was active in the Domestic Violence Action Center and Law Students for Reproductive Justice. In recognition of her commitment to public service, Lauren received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, magna cum laude.
During her law school summers, Lauren continued her public interest work, representing clients in family offense hearings and assisting with pro bono cases involving asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors.
Before joining the SkyerLaw in 2019, Lauren worked as an associate at another New York special education law firm, representing clients in impartial hearings and appeals before higher courts.
Lauren lives in Connecticut with her husband and son.
