Teri Horowitz has been working with children with special needs and their families since 1988 when she was a counselor and then an administrator at Ramapo for Children in Rhinebeck, NY.  She graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 1998 and then spent two years as the Ethics Clerk to The Honorable Carol Bagley Amon in the Eastern District of New York.  After her clerkship, Teri worked as a Skadden Fellow at The Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division.  Although she left the full-time practice of law when she had children, Teri continued to use her special education advocacy skills on behalf of her older son, who currently attends The Gateway School.

She lives with her husband, John, and their two sons in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
